Hey, guys! It's that time of year once again where I do my fundraiser for the Autistic Self Advocacy Network! For my birthday this year, I'm asking for donations to ASAN. As you know, I'm autistic, so are many of my friends, some family members, and even four-fifths of the cast for That Gosh Darn Hippie Show are on the autistic spectrum, as well! This organization is near and dear to my heart, and one of the best (if not the best) organization to give to when it comes to autism causes. They help to get accommodations in schools for folks with autism, try to stop harmful or abusive therapies, help to get folks like us equal job opportunities, and are very involved with the disability rights movement as a whole. Please donate if you can, or share the fundraiser on your page if you can't! Peace and love!
The Autistic Self Advocacy Network seeks to advance the principles of the disability rights movement with regard to autism. ASAN believes that the goal of autism advocacy should be a world in which autistic people enjoy equal access, rights, and opportunities. We work to empower autistic people across the world to take control of our own lives and the future of our common community, and seek to organize the autistic community to ensure our voices are heard in the national conversation about us.
