It is now 000.M31, and the Ullanor System has finally been freed from the grasp of the Ork menace. To honor this glorious occasion, the Emperor of Mankind has decreed that a celebration shall be held, with all of the Primarchs in attendance.
Realizing that the Imperium needs him elsewhere, he plans to chose a successor as military leader in the form of a Warmaster. Yet, it is not Horus who will receive this honor, nor shall it be his brothers, for in this world, no such men exist. In their place is a unique caste of characters with their own histories, accomplishments, and ambitions. A war is coming, one that will bathe the stars in blood on a scale unseen in the Galaxy for eons. The outcome will be uncertain, but whether or it is darkness or light that proves victorious, it will be an Age of Emergence.
