Those that remained wealthy after the Depression live in luxury while the poor struggle. After the appearance of a masked vigilante known as the Watchman, several individuals decided to don masks and fight crime and corruption. So-called “masks” are controversial amongst the general public. Mad scientists work on unthinkable experiments and create "weirds", a term for mutants, monstrosities, and thinking machines.
