How do I set a nickname in different Discord servers?

Last Updated Oct 14, 2019

On Discord, you have your username, but you can also get a custom name in each server that you’re a member of. Just right-click on the server you want a new name in, then click on Change Nickname. Then, you’ll have a new name, just in that server! Not every server has this option, however. As a server owner, you can decide if you want to enable this feature. Server owners can change people’s nicknames themselves. Also, anyone can still click on your profile and see your actual Discord name. So, no being sneaky! Either name will work for an @mention, and when searching a members list. So, this feature does not impact normal Discord activity.
