WE HAVE REACHED 2000 MEMBERS!
That is absolutely insane! I never in my life expected this server to turn out as big as it is. I am absolutely floored that it became the community that it has.
When I created this server, all I wanted was a place for me and a few friends to talk about RWBY and share pictures and memes and theories, nothing too fancy. There were maybe 20 of us at peak "friend" capacity and it was fine! But one day we decided that it could be fun to bring in some more people in to share our love for RWBY, and make some friends along the way. Those of you who have been with us around that time know how overwhelmingly quickly our server grew since then, and it never really stopped! And now, barely more than a year later, we have reached TWO THOUSAND members! It is genuinely unfathomable, we thought at most it would be a 100-200 member thing, max, after a long time. But we smashed that milestone so quickly and blasted past it continuously for a full year.
This server has not been without its hiccups and road blocks, but we could not have had a better community to jump those hurdles with than this one. Those of you who went through them alongside us know what we mean by this, and we hope that the rest of you don't ever have to experience the same struggles we all went through again. Thank you all so much for sticking with us through thick and thin.
I am so grateful that we have a community where we can face tough obstacles together without it tearing us apart, and where we can understand each other and be polite, kind, generous, and positive with each other. It blows my mind when you tell me that without this server your life would be different and you wouldn't have met your friends without it, but I am so glad that we could make that positive change possible.
This server has become my greatest passion project, and I don't know where I'd be without it. Thanks to this place I have discovered so much about myself, and I have learned so much about what it means to run a community and to have people who rely on you to maintain it. I have learned more about people here than I have in my entire life leading up to this, and I have learned so much about how to be kind, generous, and understanding through this place. I don't want to think about how my life would be without this server to keep me busy and give me something to look forward to every day. This place has genuinely been my entire life since this all started and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you all for your never-ending support for me, our mods, the server as a whole, and for each other. I am so grateful to have such a positive community where everyone can be themselves, it's so rare these days to have something like that. We truly are a diamond in the rough!
I have a lot of ideas for the future of this community, and we will continue to do our best in improving and growing for all of you! I also want to be sure to revisit our old ideas in the future, because I think they were super fun and I don't want new members to miss out on that!
We have a little event planned for the coming week to celebrate this monumental occasion that I hope will highlight all the positive memories we've had in the last year in this community. Keep an eye out for that announcement soon! I'll see you then.
