The story is quite simple. In Guyana and Suriname, there were coups carried out by the Military and Police. Power was taken over by Military Juntas, which armed themselves but also expanded their influence to other countries. This was the fate of Trinidad and Tobago and Saint Lucia. While in the first case, the Puffians made progress and practically took over the entire Trinidad, in Saint Lucia, the revolt of the police and paramilitary organizations only covers the cities.
However, the Junta's rule is not widely supported, which led to numerous uprisings, including communist ones supported by the regimes in Cuba and Grenada. However, the situation is so tense that other countries had to intervene.
The most important foreign player is currently Venezuela, which is trying to occupy a significant part of Guyana but also to place its people in power in Trinidad and Tobago.
