Story and lore-driven DayZ Roleplay Server with imaginative low-fantasy and sci-fi elements, created and developed by roleplay veterans. The sphere of roleplay is niche, but filled with passionate individuals who are typically not content with the coastal massacres and violently brief encounters that comprise the vanilla DayZ experience. The Veil was created by a group of friends who all share a passion for storytelling, and collectively have tens of thousands of hours spent immersing themselves across different mediums. Our aim with The Veil is to enable you to tell the stories you want to tell, engage with others’ stories, and experience a world rich in lore and atmosphere. We’ll set the stage, but we welcome all of the actors and the parts they have yet to play.

We're pleased to announce that the server's first Settlement, Providence, will be complete this weekend. Come by and say hello to your fellow survivors, meet new friends (or enemies?), do some trading, and share your knowledge of these strange lands!
|| Journal Entry || A sweat-stained letter, paperweighted by a hammer and nails, forgotten somewhere in a corner of Providence.
We set the final sheets of metal in place just a few moments ago. It's been hard work but with the help of some like-minded folks, we've finally got Providence built up. We lost a few good people, but part of me believes they'd be happy to know their lives weren't wasted. Hopefully not wasted. Only time will tell. I'm not sure what's going to come of this place, but all I know is that I want it to succeed and blood was shed to give us this chance.
Something had to be done. Sitting around a campfire, listening to the screams and growls of the befouled, we had a vision. A place for survivors to live and grow and take back this damn world, safe from the creatures that stalk our lands and kill our friends. But too long we've been tucking tail and running from these monsters or demons... or aliens?; honestly, I'm still not convinced this isn't a sick cosmic punishment for mankind's failures. That doesn't mean we deserve to spend all of our days hiding and suffering under the Eyes. We don't deserve their wrath nor their judgment. I've seen too many kind souls perish to this darkness that has cast a veil over our world.
I hope our hard work pays off. And I hope their next project succeeds.
To those who gave their lives to get us here, I thank you. We won't squander this opportunity you have afforded us. And if we fail, then perhaps this judgment was truly deserved.
