Acara Özerk Cumhuriyeti (Gürcüce: აჭარა; tam adı: აჭარის ავტონომიური რესპუბლიკა - Açaris Avtonomiuri Respublika), Gürcistan’ın güneybatı kesiminde yer alan özerk cumhuriyet. Yönetim merkezi Batum’dur. Türkiye’nin hemen kuzeydoğusunda Artvin ve Ardahan illeri sınırında yer alır. Artvin'in Kemalpaşa ilçesinde bulunan Sarp Sınır Kapısı Batum’a açılır. Bir süre Osmanlı İmparatorluğu yönetiminde kalmış olan Acara Özerk Cumhuriyeti, 1921'de imzalanan Kars Antlaşması'nın bir sonucu olarak Acara Özerk Sovyet Sosyalist Cumhuriyeti adıyla kurulmuş, Sovyetler Birliği'nin dağılıp Gürcistan'ın bağımsız olmasından sonra bugünkü adını almıştır. Gürcistan'ın merkezî yönetimine tabi olan Acara Özerk Cumhuriyeti, Türkiye ile tarihî, dinî ve kültürel yakınlığa sahiptir. 1921 Kars Antlaşması metnine göre Türkiye, bölgeyi dinî toplulukların bütün haklarını garanti altına alan geniş bir yönetimsel özerkliğe sahip olması ve Batum limanından vergisiz şekilde serbest ticaret yapabilmesi koşuluyla Gürcistan'a.
