"Roleplayers of Laurelin"'s monthly roleplay prompt for November 2024 is... "There or Back Again"!

From Beren and Lúthien to Eärendil, and Aragorn to Bilbo, many of Middle-earth’s tales are concerned with travel and journey. From the crossing of the Misty Mountains, to the voyages between Númenor and Middle-earth, and even the day-long trip between Buckland and Bree, many strange perils and great joys await the unwary and the wise alike on the paths of Middle-earth. This month’s prompts asks you to host sessions and events focused on the act of travelling through Middle-earth, with special emphasis on the actual exploration and journeying. Details are below:
"Ever as the bitter winds of winter stir, desperate travellers make haste along the long miles that seperate town from refuge across Middle-earth. The Road is a perilous place, but its chances are not all ill. From chance encounters with wandering Elves, to the keenly joyous sight of far-glimpsed peaks, to the merriment at stumbling upon a patch of mushrooms, many are the great and the small joys that may be met upon it. Yet for the hapless or the foolish, brigands, wrong turns, and ill weather may hinder their travel; or even force a change in their plans."
For the “There or Back Again” prompt, host a session or event on "Roleplayers of Laurelin"'s LFRP Board located in any ‘wilderness’ location (ie, not a settlement or camp). Sessions or events hosted in these locations could encompass anything, including brief journeys from town to town to visit acquaintances, attending to some duty elsewhere in the land, questing for renown or fortune, or even wandering for the joy of it.
As always, the possibilities for this prompt are vast, and we encourage you to get creative with your interpretations!
