For as long as humanity has walked the Earth, the spiritual and the supernatural have shaped its existence. Two distinct paths of power emerged to defend against the darkness that lurks beyond mortal sight. The Shinigami of Soul Society harness reishi to guide souls and combat Hollows, corrupted spirits who prey on the living. Meanwhile, the Jujutsu Sorcerers wield cursed energy, born from humanity’s negative emotions, to exorcise malevolent Cursed Spirits that manifest from fear and despair. Despite their different methods, Shinigami and Sorcerers have coexisted in an unspoken neutrality, recognizing that their enemies—Hollows and Cursed Spirits—share a disturbingly close nature. Both thrive on spiritual energy and emotional negativity, with some Hollows developing cursed energy traits and certain Cursed Spirits exhibiting hollow-like characteristics. These hybrid entities blur the lines between the two worlds.
