About Server

A women only server (and those who identify as women) that helps those who are interested in a male-dominated career or those already in one. We offer many STEM channels and Construction/trades channels. Get advice on how to get started, post work photos or selfies, discuss work issues, and find other women to relate to!

Some long term goals for this server include so far:
- Do Q and A sessions with a variety of professionals.
-After all this Covid crap becomes manageable, planning a meet up at a Women's Convention or something similar.
-Build a list of contacts for those looking in joining a specific career (with the contact's permission of course!)
-Reach out to organizations and non-profits that relate to our group!
- Getting more events on the calendar (so far we have Jackbox nights and a free "Women in Leadership" course going on through Coursea)

Hello to all those semi-interested in joining this server!

We've recently upped our moderation with bots and people! We now have a co-leader who helps corral the STEM ladies, while I still keep the construction ladies in line. We have areas for those just getting started to mingle, for those simply interested/curious, and a general place for us to congregate!

A calendar channel has also sprung up to post new events. We've had a few Jackbox game nights, which is a nice way to relax and get to know each other. Here's tipping my hat to you, banana wrangler, lol. We are always on the look out for one off events, as well as reoccurring ones!

On a professional note, I have been taking an online course in "Women in Leadership", which is free online if you audit the class from Coursea. I would love to have people interested in that, so I have someone (or two) to talk about it with. We've also started recently looking for tutors/mentors for our newer in the field members. With Covid being in the mix, we are also scouting a webinar or two that would be great if we could attend.

Lastly, most of us are from North America and we would love some people from further time zones to interact with our ridiculous night owls. If you are interested in responsibility or a role, there are many positions within the server to fill. Let me know about your role preferences and talents we can utilize!

This post may bounce from new idea to other new idea, but a lot of positive growth has risen from this server. We hope to see those interested in this server and what it has to offer and we look forward to discussing many topics and seeing what's important to you as well as how we can help!
