## Zeus — bonded settlement for peer-to-peer trades
Every middleman server asks you to trust one person with your money. Zeus doesn't. The buyer pays the seller directly. Both sides post a bond into an immutable contract that only exists to settle a dispute, and nobody, including us, can touch the payment.
**How a deal runs**
1. `/deal new` — pick a counterparty, amount and template
2. Both sides bond and a private deal thread opens
3. The buyer pays the seller directly and records it
4. The seller delivers and a review window starts
5. Approval or silence settles it, and both bonds come back
If it goes wrong, the buyer disputes and a randomly drawn arbitrator rules. The loser forfeits their bond to the winner, so fake disputes and fake deliveries both cost money.
