The people living behind the walls have formed three branches of a military keep order within the walls, protect the walls, and fight the titans past the walls. Many missions have occurred to gain information on titans, but the most learned is that they have a weak spot in their nape. Even though they have a weak spot, it’s not like it’s easy to get to. Titans can constantly regenerate and heal parts of their body unless you take out their nape. Military technology has advanced enough to actually kill titans, but civilians still live with the same technology that they’ve had forever. All in all, despite the walls being a “birdcage” they are the only things preventing titans from eating everyone.
